70's Berkertex Jacket with Belt
Buyer's Note
Berkertex was founded in 1936.
It was a pioneering company that began producing mid-priced ready-to-wear clothing, and after relocating to Plymouth in southwest England after the war, it created the largest employment in the region.
Its designs, especially from the 1970s onwards, were popular, appearing frequently in magazines alongside brands like Mary Quant, but the company finally closed in 2018.
This playful jacket, typical of the 1970s, features a large collar, many buttons, and, unusually for its length, comes with a belt that allows for waist cinching.
The candy-yellow buttons are a nice accent! The item itself is a plain beige color, so it can be enjoyed in various outfits by combining it with innerwear and scarves.
We also recommend pairing it with wide pants or colored tights.
