70's QUAD Maxi Dress | London Victorian Gothic Vintage
Buyer's Note
QUAD is a fashion boutique that opened in London in the late 1960s. Its diverse designs, ranging from the bold peacock style of a typical rock star to the delicate Victorian style, pay great respect to both the past and present (at the time). Despite being a small brand with a short active period, it has many collectors and fans, on a par with Mary Quant and BIBA.
This 70s maxi dress resembles a pared-down version of a 19th-century dress, with its V-shaped pleated lace bodice, velvet ribbons, and lustrous iridescent satin skirt - all elements of this unique design are quite unusual.
It also has a British gothic horror vibe, similar to "Frankenstein."
